Creature of Habit

I think the last "blog" I had was when I was in junior high. Its purpose was just an online journal and I highly doubt anyone read it as to this was before the dawn of Facebook. So please bear with me as this is my first actual blog. This summer. . . in just 2 days. . . I will be in Mississippi as a summer missionary. I will try to keep y'all updated with what I am doing and any new prayer requests via this blog. If y'all haven't seen a new entry after a while let me know!! :-)  I've always been a creature of habit. My family always sits 2 pews back from the piano at church and I've always ordered the kids cheeseburger from Fuddruckers. It's safe to say I don't do change. So last summer when God started calling me to be a summer missionary I was really unsure of what to do. I remember praying that if this was really what God wanted me to do that he would hit me with a spiritual 2 by 4 and make it really obvious that this was what he wanted me to do. Needless to say he did just that. He provided great friends who had done summer missions that summer that helped me to figure out how to apply for summer missions. He also sent sermons and verses my way to confirm that this was what he wanted me to do with my summer or hit me with a "Spiritual 2 by 4". Thank you all so much for your prayers as I embark on this new experience. I will leave for Mississippi this Wednesday and will be back in Winslow on July 29th. For news on the other three summer missionaries from First Baptist Winslow: Kamber Maine, Kayla Maine, and Josh Cirre, go to the First Baptist Winslow Missionaries Facebook page.
